In 2017, I turned 40, and my Mom would have been 70.

Brutally murdered more than 13 years ago, I reached that milestone alone - without my best friend, and biggest supporter. In her honor, I ran the DC Rock N Roll Marathon on her 70th birthday, one mile for every year we had together. With the help of more than 300 donors, I raised roughly $30,000 for gun violence prevention

Along the way, I found my voice, sharing my reflections and experiences with a growing community. Connecting with you all has been restorative, energizing and really fun - just like I am still running, I will keep writing, too.
